Starting the New Year off on the Right Foot ― One of the Best Hikes in the Blue Mountains

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a beautiful Christmas filled with warmth and a refreshing start to the new year.

I couldn’t think of many other things more perfect than starting day 2 of 2015 with one of the best hikes in the Blue Mountains, Perry’s Lookdown to the Blue Gum Forest (return).

Hopefully you’ll get a taster as to why.

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

Would you ever like more detail about my hikes? Like track notes, feelings of the journey or the reasons I love this hike or hiking in general? Let me know below and also tell me how you’re finding 2015 so far.

Much love, light, gratitude, and many more adventures,
From hike-loving Julie x

  1. Hi Julie, I have always wanted to do the Blue Gum forest walk, but it was closed the last time I wanted to do it due to bad erosion after much rough weather. We love the mountains, and do some of our birding there, especially behind in Capertee Valley. Thanks for sharing, great blog and pics!
